Merrill and Ring Lumber Company had a significant operation based at the head of Theodosia Inlet, . They incorporated in BC in 1907, but did not begin to operate until getting a railway licence in 1922. By 1924 they had 10 miles of track, several locomotives and more than 40 cars.
